Nelumbo Nucifera (also know as ‘Sacred Lotus’ and ‘Indian Lotus’) is an aquatic flowering plant native to India and Asia. It is the celebrated as the State flower in several Indian States, due to its cultural significance, often being depicted as a symbol for purity and spiritual growth.
The plants many therapeutic properties include treatment for various blood problems, fever, and diarrhoea, with many people using the plant as an antioxidant.
It also shares some of the properties of the Blue Lotus, acting as a sedative and a reliever of stress.
